Jesus Muñoz Flamenco: ”1929″ -flamenco’s future, a retrospective.
1929 debuts at the National Hispanic Cultural Center in Albuquerque, NM. October 4th and 5th, 2013.
1929 will feature ‘palos’, or flamenco rhythms, danced by only a few flamenco dancers in the world and expand on flamenco history by interpreting it’s past with a modern twist. Directed by Jesus Muñoz, Jesus Muñoz Flamenco is flamenco dance and music at it’s finest, with a big enough sound and energy to make the largest crowd feel intimate. The newest additions of the company, La Chispa (dancer) and the Katumba family dynasty of musicians have helped drive the vision of Jesus Muñoz Flamenco to a whole new level with recent company shows being described as “Fantastic, fresh…. I cried, I laughed, I was shocked… “This is the best thing I’ve seen or heard in 20 years, and I’ve seen my share of New York City.” 1929 will take you back to a time when a social gathering meant inviting friends into your home.
